Private pilot training · Southern California
Fightertown is a structured private pilot program. Ten students train in each squadron. The goal is proficiency, not minimum hours.
Most flight training is booked one lesson at a time. Fightertown uses a set training plan. Students train on a regular schedule from the first lesson through the checkride.
Each flight follows the same basic process.
Review the goal, weather, aircraft, and standard for the flight.
Fly the lesson with a clear plan. The instructor records what needs more work.
Review the flight, set the next goal, and correct weak areas on the next lesson.
A private pilot certificate has a minimum flight-hour requirement. Many students need more time. Fightertown does not use the minimum as the finish line.
Training continues until your instructor believes you are ready for the checkride and ready to fly on your own.
Fightertown plans to run two squadrons each month. Each squadron has ten students. Training follows a set schedule in Southern California.
